Composition

Neomycin sulphate BP 5mg and Bacitracin (as Zinc salt) BP 500 units

Indication

a) Impetigo due to group A Streptococci or Staphylococcus aureus b) Sycosis barbae due to Staphylococcus aureus c) Furunculosis due to Staphylococci d) Secondary infected wound, ulcers and burns e) Eczematoid dermatitis, f) Pyogenic dermatitis g) Eczema h) Neurodermatitis i) Anogenital pruritus

Dosage

Before use, the area for application should be cleaned gently. Debris such as pus or crusts should be removed from the affected area. A thin film of Nuba ointment is applied 2 to 4 times daily. Applications should not exceed 60 gm daily for 3 weeks, and there after not be repeated for at least 3 months. In renal impairment reduced dosages should be used because of the reduced plasma clearance of neomycin. It is not recommended for use in neonates.
